Directional Control Valve

The Directional Control Valve changes the port direction and helps to operate various equipment like cylinders, dampers, conveyors etc. By stopping, passing and changing the medium of the pneumatic or hydraulic medium, the control of equipment is achieved. The below diagram shows the various types of directional valves available.

The above diagram simply describes the features of the direction valve. The two square portions represent the number of positions the valve is capable of. And the number of ports is counted in any one square portion, don’t count both squares. In this type 2 ports are available. The LHS portion usually represents the normal De-energized state. The RHS attached box represents the energized condition.
