5/3 Solenoid Valve

The 5/3 solenoid valve is a type of directional valve, the port direction change is achieved by energizing the solenoid coil, which pushes the plunger against the spring to open or close the port. Once the coil is de-energized by the spring return, it will return to its normal position.

The above diagram simply describes the features of the direction valve. The three square portions represent a number of different directions the valve is capable of operating. And the number of ports is counted in any one square portion, don’t count all squares. In this type 5 ports are available. Both sides of the valve contain a solenoid coil and the middle represents the de-energized state. And if any one of the solenoids gets activated the direction of the port is shown in the above diagram. Hence combining all its features it was named so.
