5/2 Solenoid Valve
The 5/2 solenoid valve is a type of directional valve, the port direction change is achieved by energizing the solenoid coil, which pushes the plunger against the spring to open or close the port. Once the coil is de-energized by the spring return, it will return to its normal position.
The above diagram simply describes the features of the direction valve. The two square portions represent a number of positions the valve is capable of operating. And the number of ports is counted in any one square portion, don’t count both squares. In this type 5 ports are available. The spring attached portion represents the normal De-energized state. And the solenoid attached box represents the energized condition. Hence combining all its features it was named so.
